The Beauty
I know, I know… we’ve all heard enough analogies about lollipops.. Oops, I mean tulips.. Sorry wrong again, what's that thing called? That juts its head up from the water.. Umm.. a…. Padma… a lotus.
I’m sorry, I just couldn't resist myself from writing yet another book about it. But I do hope it will offer you something more and different than the other books you’ve read. I mean if you have read any. Sadly people don't really read books anymore, you know? Netflix has taken over all. So now instead of living in a fantasy world in your head, in your hand a bunch of paper stuck together royally with glue, you live in a fantasy world coming out of a small fancy 6cm wide screen. I feel like it makes things worse but i aint really sure about it. So getting back to the point. I remember one of the first times I ever saw a lotus. I was at a meditation retreat in a small hill station which was popular for its hallucinogenic mushrooms. I’ve been there multiple times since and to the surprise of my peers never once tried these supposedly amazing mushrooms. So getting back to it once again.. I saw these beautiful lotuses scattered across a small outdoor pond with hills overlooking it on 3 sides and stopped to examine them passably. With my face within 3 inches of the water, I found myself lost examining the petals closely with all my presence. I faintly remember someone calling out to me, telling me to move away from the pond. I'm not sure if it actually was a person or just my inner voice, but at the same moment, I saw a water snake swiftly swimming across, or actually around the roots of these flowers. Instead of moving my face away from the water, I found myself dumbstruck. Although I wasn't foolish enough to move closer, I couldn't get myself to move away from the pond.
